A book outlining the history of Sydney’s lesbian scene will soon be published by the Pride History group, thanks to a Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association donation.

The Sydney Pride History Group last week received a cheque for $2,000, which was raised by the SGLBA through its regular Fruits in Suits night.

The money will be put towards the publication of a new book, tentatively titled Out On The Town, which will be released during the Mardi Gras Festival in 2009, Pride History President John Witte said before thanking the SGLBA.

The work of the group is voluntary and involves a hell of a lot of donated time and energy to conduct interviews and compile histories so we greatly appreciate the generosity of the SGLBA, he said.
