Mogenic hits the Big Apple

This September the Sydney-based queer youth support website Mogenic is holding its first dance party in New York City. The site’s founder Michael Wilson never dreamed of this happening when he created the site from his Newcastle home at the age of 16. I was unable to find any decent websites for people like me, so I decided to make my own, explained Wilson, now 23, who’s currently in talks to hold regular parties in LA, Miami and Washington. With a massive following in the US, Mogenic has a reputation as the world’s most advanced online GLBTQ youth community. Its popularity has spread purely via word-of-mouth -“ most people find about it through school counsellors or friends -“ and it attracts more than half a million visitors each month.
