
Senate supports same-sex marriage ban
Senators voted to support a ban on same-sex marriage today, with the ALP and Liberal parties joined forces to rush anti-gay marriage through.
The vote was 38 to seven in favour of banning same-sex marriage. An amendment brought forward by the Greens -“ which would have changed the name of the legislation from “Marriage Amendment” to “Marriage Discrimination” -“ failed.
