Spirits high for last Gay Games party

Spirits high for last Gay Games party

Preparations for the Farewell party are running smoothly, with director of parties Gary Leeson predicting a spectacular end to the Gay Games party season. The Farewell party has the largest capacity of all of the Games parties, but given the swift sell-outs of the Sunset, Butch! and Black parties, partygoers are advised to book as quickly as possible.

With all of the sporting events concluding by Saturday, Leeson expects a more relaxed vibe as the more serious Games competitors discard their fitness regimens for the night.

Spirits will be high, definitely, Leeson told Sydney Star Observer. We’re hoping to recreate the spirit from last Saturday night, with the Gay Games family together under one roof for the last time.

The DJs for the event are Alex Taylor and Paul Goodyear in the RHI, Anthony Whitlock and Mandy Rollins in the Hordern Pavilion and Jake Kilby and Sveta in the Dome. The City Live venue will play host to an all-out Latin American party for the evening.

Leeson is especially excited about the guest performers for the party, including Tina Arena, Melissa Tkautz, Michal Nicolas and Shauna Jensen. Tina’s entrance is going to be quite spectacular, says Leeson. She’s got the most amazing revealing dress, and the act involves a grand piano.

The Farewell party kicks off at around 8pm at Fox Studios, Moore Park. Tickets are $99 and $79 concession, plus booking fees. Phone 9266 4020 or visit www.sydney2002.org.au for bookings. Tickets may also be purchased from any Ticketek outlet, or the Gay Games shopfront at 92 Oxford Street.
