Last chance to support JOY 94.9’s annual Radiothon

TODAY is the last chance for members of the public to dig deep and donate or become a member of LGBTI community radio station JOY 94.9 as its annual Radiothon comes to a close.

The 2015 theme for the Radiothon is “Re: Member JOY”, with the station using the past few days to remember its past 21 years and looks to the future ahead, as well as remembering the things that bring the LGBTI community together.

The station’s general manager Conrad Browne said: “Each year, JOY’s Radiothon serves as a reminder to the community about the importance of having such an amazing resource serve as the voice for our incredibly diverse communities.

“It’s through the support of our members, donors and listeners that the station can continue to do this, thanks to the incredible energy and enthusiasm of our 250-plus volunteers, so we ask everyone to Remember JOY this June and show your love and support for the station.”

All new memberships go into the running to win a grand prize of a Smart Cat Fortwo, including all on-road costs, worth over $21,000.

All funds raised during Radiothon are vital to JOY and help keep Australia’s first and only LGBTI-centric FM radio station broadcasting.
