Kylie’s new cover version
Kylie is currently gracing one of the covers – there are six different versions – of bi-annual fashion bible Vs (below).
The pop icon talks to the magazine about the pressures of fame and her enduring popularity with gay fans.
As for the burden of celebrity, Kylie told the interviewer: “No one gave me a guidebook as to what happens when you become famous.
“Like everyone, you make mistakes. You try not to make them again,” she concludes.
The topic then turned to then support of her gay fans when she experienced a media backlash at the beginning of her career.
“I was promptly cut back down to size by the press,” she told Vs.
“It was really, I would say, vitriolic. At the time perhaps the gay audience liked me anyway, but could see that I was being attacked for no real reason.”
Apart from gracing glamorous fashion mags, Kylie is busy rehearsing for her Les Folies tour – which kicks off in Denmark 11 days from now.
There’s still no word on whether the tour is coming to Australia, though the Star Observer has been told to expect an announcement any day about dates in late July and early August.
