Same-sex smooches

There’s something about same-sex smooches. First the Brokeback pash won the MTV Gold Popcorn movie award in 2006, now the cowboy canoodle has been ranked in the top 10 most memorable kisses of all time according to a UK poll.

Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhall’s enthusiastic embrace in Brokeback Mountain has stood the test of time two years after appearing on the big screen, according to viewers of the Sky Movies channel.

Rounding out the top 10, it was the most recent of the selections which included three from the black and white era, one kiss of death, one comic book adaptation and one Disney cartoon.

The survey did not specify which Brokeback kisses made the cut: the one that horrified Ledger’s on and off screen wife Michelle Williams or the one that left gay men wincing at the director’s omission of lubricant.
