Syphilis support

Syphilis infections in men over 50 have almost doubled in just two years according to the latest national STI surveillance data.
Infections in all age groups have increased, but none more pronounced than those over 50, followed by men in their 40s who saw a 70 percent jump in two years.
Earlier this year ACON rolled out a campaign to get gay men in Sydney to seek syphilis tests, hoping to break the cycle of infection.
The Sydney Convicts rugby team and DJs Buck Naked and Jimmy Dee were among those who helped out, encouraging gay men to look out for each other.
HIV researchers were concerned the syphilis outbreak could undermine efforts to keep infection rates stable, because transmission rates increase with an untreated syphilis infection.
