Taylor Square markets to rock

A bevy of local DJs and queer performers have been confirmed for this weekend’s inaugural Taylor Square Community Markets.

Adding to the atmosphere of the specially Mardi Gras-themed event will be a host of DJs from Kinselas hotel roving drag queens.

Titty Tassles and the Homotones band will take to the stage as well as the glam electro group Carnival of Electric Illusions.

The highlight of the day will be a series of interactive performances from Sketch the Rhyme.

Darlinghurst is packed with creative artists, designers, quirky retailers, community groups and some big personalities who are banding together to show Sydneysiders what a great day can be had in the area, markets organiser and president of the Darlinghurst Business Partnership Andrew Duckmanton said.

  1. No offence guys but Don’t forget that it a “market” to shop for clothes, nick nacks and other things like Paddington markets.
Please don’t over run it and try and turn it into a semi-rave with zonked out party goers walking around like zombies.
I hope Kinselas will be where the entertainment is and stays and the actual square is where everyday people can shop in peace, with out being picked on by drag-queens or worse preyed on by drug-dealers as we will see.thanks
