LISTEN TO MY HEART

An intimate musical revue featuring five of Australia’s finest singers opens tonight (Thursday 26 April) at the Cabaret Lounge. In Listen To My Heart, Margi de Ferranti, Tony Farrell, Tyran Parke, Saskia Smith and Kaye Tuckerman will be performing some of David Friedman’s most beautiful songs. BILL HUNTER

Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert is having a change of cast, with Bill Hunter filling in for Michael Caton for the next two weeks. Hunter played the original character of Bob the mechanic in the 1994 screen version. Priscilla will close in Sydney on 9 September, one month short of the anniversary of its debut at the Lyric Theatre at Star City. For more details see www.priscillathemusical.com.

MAKING SPACE

Illustrator Reg Lynch has curated an art auction called spaceAID to raise funds for the Queen Street Studio in Chippendale, a non-profit creative development and rehearsal facility run by artists for artists. Thirty artists have created work especially for this event including Max Cullen, Paul Livingston and Nerissa Lea. SHEILA AUTONOMISTA

A queer feminist festival is being held this week in the name of woman’s art, culture, politics and activism. This event-packed festival features exhibitions, workshops, bands and readings. SYDNEY SOLOISTS

As part of the Utzon Room Music Series, there is a special concert by the Sydney Soloists on Sunday 29 April at 5pm. The Sydney Soloists feature some of the finest musicians in the country.
