Out! Cairns needs help
During the past three years, Out! Cairns has been successful in providing a safe LGBT party space when there has often been no alternative. Having also raised approximately $8000 for community groups, now Out! is the one calling for the community’s help.
For Out! to continue, the organisation is calling for fresh blood to join the small group of volunteers that makes up their operation. It can be as little as an hour a month, or slightly more in the case of the group’s secretary — a position that is currently not filled.
The monthly Out! nights were established by volunteers who wanted to organise regular events and dance parties for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The parties are usually on the first Saturday of every month from 9pm till late at the Heritage Nightclub.
