Camp classic comes to cable
There’s nothing quite like a camp classic getting a makeover, especially when it involves the likes of Kate Winslet.
Now the mini-series Mildred Pierce has finally come to Australia, beginning on Foxtel’s Showcase channel this Wednesday night.
An adaptation of the classic American novel directed by Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) it got a swag of Emmy nominations this year and also stars Evan Rachel Wood and Australia’s Guy Pearce.
It was famously adapted in 1945 with Joan Crawford in the starring role.
It starts at 8.30pm Wednesday, August 3 on Showcase.
