Hiscock lives on at Bake-Off

A stunning culinary creation by the legendary Miss 3D took top honours at this year’s BGF Bake-Off. The tribute to the late David Hiscock, which saw the DJ master playing at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, earned 3D’s alter ego Glen Lewis the top prize at the 24th annual fundraiser, held at Paddington Town Hall.

The Bake-Off, which attracted 80 entries over seven categories, looks to have raised $40,000 for the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV.

Once again, we were really encouraged by the heartfelt support we received from the community for Bake-Off, BGF CEO Bev Lange said.

People really took to heart the Bake-Off message of coming along to join the party by creating a fun-loving carnival atmosphere in the Paddington Town Hall.

Judges this year inlcuded Olympic gold medallist Matthew Mitcham, Ready, Steady Cook presenter Peter Everett, celebrity chef Patrick Collins and drag queen Claire de Lune.

But the real excitement came after the judging, when DIVA Hall of Fame recipient Mitzi Macintosh started auctioning off the prized entries.

The winning cake fetched $6200 while a Hamilton Island holiday went for $6600. Those culinary treats that failed to find a stomach were donated to the Luncheon Club.
