Gay acts equal paedophilia: Cameroon

Harsh new anti-gay laws are being considered by the Government of Cameroon, which would treat homosexuals who had sex with people between the ages of 16 and 21 as paedophiles.

LGBTI rights activists warned that this would conflate the two issues in people’s minds.

“It has widened its jurisdiction and created a confusion between homosexuality and paedophilia, which will allow judges to condemn more people more easily,” Cameroonian Association for the Defence of Homosexuality president Alice Nkom said.

Homosexuality is already illegal in Cameroon but lawmakers are seeking to increase the six months to five years jail term for homosexual acts, to 10 to 15 years for sex with 16 – 21-year-old males.

The heterosexual age of consent is 16.

  1. Hate mongers shouting at me “a talking Snake married Adam and Eve”, cannot be taken seriously.

Cameroon might well be following the horrible path of Liberal Party Kevin Andrews, when in the Great Hall of Parliament in Canberra, he applauded hate mongers who said homosexuals want to marry children, and are the Greatest Evil, at the notorious anti-Marriage rally. This is who the Liberal Party puts up as a shadow Minister, so imagine what will happen should Kevin, dare to bring his Bible thumping down should he ever have real power!

The Liberal Party are certainly setting an example of hate for the world to follow, I just wonder if Cameroon will have rallies where the opposition leader will clap loudly, while mobs carry around a coffin with the name of the Prime Minister on it. Or is Cameroon better than our Christian Fundamentalist Brethren Liberal Party here in Australia?

One this is for sure, hate breeds hate. I would like to see the Liberal Party restored to its former glory and core values, not eroded with the intense smell of mouldy meat. Don Dunstan decriminalised homosexuality, Fraser never made issues of “boat people”, and the party did some really good things for Australia. Now it is just a shadow of a cross, the Nanny State, where it will tell people who to marry, likens homosexuality to paedophilia, and tries to get mobs to kill the us and the Prime Minister. Even Malcolm Turnbull says although his electorate does support equality, he does not. So who are these new people who call themselves Liberal? Certainly none of them are Liberal Greats with courage and vision to do the right thing, just great manipulators perhaps. But perhaps it is now not the Liberal Party at all –rather an arm of the Christian Democrats in flimsy disguise.

Either way what we do, or do not do in Australia, matters in other parts of the world. We can be a beacon of light, of hope, in the fiercest of storms, or we can be an example of cruelty, of man’s never ending inhumanity to man. Equality is not just marriage, it is living as freely as the next person, not kicking them when they are down, not mistreating people on the basis of sexuality. It is treating people equally, and what hope do countries like Cameroon have, if we as a nation, set examples of hate in the Great Hall of our Parliament. So before we berate Cameroon, and they are deserving of it, I will fist cast the first stone at our political leaders in the Liberal and National Party.
